I carried out this project during the last years in several European cities. I was interested in two main topics. On the one hand, I was pursuing the vision of a common European city and, therefore, a common European identity. On the other hand, what interested me was the relationship between people and cities, their place in the urban space. Cities are man’s home, the space he created for his life on hearth. Without people streets, squares, buildings would be without reasons for being and this is the reason why I put human figures in the centre of my attention. From this point of view, reflecting on European cities identity means also reflecting on European people identity, on their hard and tragic past and their common and shared future.
